Ice Travel & Self Rescue:

Ice rescue is dangerous! This clip is NOT a substitute for training and practice under the direction and supervision of water rescue instructors.

A rescue technician must make a rapid assessment of ice conditions and characteristics from shore to determine how they are going to travel across the ice. This video will show various ice travel techniques. It will also demonstrate how to self-rescue from the water should the rescuer plunge through the ice mantle.
